Engagement sessions:
a non-negotiable

There's a reason engagement sessions are a non-negotiable...

Engagement sessions are always a great idea, why you may ask?

1. Engagement sessions are the perfect time to get to know your photographer; you'll be spending pretty much all of your wedding day with your photographer, it's important you feel comfortable with them. Beautiful images do not matter if you're deeply uncomfortable with your photographer.

2.  It's the perfect time to practice. Practice makes perfect and engagement sessions are a prime time to learn how to pose, correct posture, and better understand the kind of direction needs you may have. Some couples need help with posing (most people need help with posture) and not all photographers will correct your bad posture or tell Uncle Joe to button up the suit.

3. Not only is it a good time to practice, it's a great opportunity to see what kind of work your photographer will provide for you. It's essentially a test run; you'll see how the photographer works, you'll see the final product, and you'll be a part of the process if you work with Symula Media Group. We believe it's important that you have a say in the way your photos are edited - skin tones, colors, and angles are all important aspects to photography. It's better to know what you like or dislike for your engagement photos than to learn that on your wedding day.

Boston and New England in general have so many beautiful locations for engagement sessions; whether it's the beach or it's a garden, engagement sessions will give you so much more than just photos for save the dates or invitations.

At Symula Media Group, we don't charge additional amounts for engagement sessions and we don't provide discounts to forego the engagement session. It's equally as important to us that we meet you before the wedding day and we feel out the vibes of the couple and the kinds of images that match their most authentic selves.

Plan to dress nicely; look good, feel good applies here. Plan a location that you'd want as a background. We always recommend a time of year that may not be the same as your wedding date; so you'll have images from several seasons. Include props like cards or champagne; sentimental items between the two of you can really help elevate the uniqueness to your relationship.

It's just as important to us as it is for you to do your engagement session. We want you to have the best images possible for your wedding day.
